LO1 - Legal and Ethical Considerations

This film is aiming to be certified as a 15 therefor there are limitations as to the content we can preview within our short film. As an example we cannot promote or encourage audiences to misuse drugs or alcohol. We are allowed to use mature language however stronger/more offensive is less likely to be accepted however this does vary depending on the context and manner it is used in. Overall we must not have a product which attacks or discriminate against minorities such as race and sexualities, so we can not use any discriminatory language or promote any bodies or icons which discriminate such as terrorist groups as an example.

Our main issue will likely be copyright infringement (Designs and Patents Act (1988)), this means our short film must use content which is filmed by us or gain assets which have no copyright holders, this is addressed towards images, music, brands or video. We will use    Pexels.com as our main source for visual assets as well as FreeSound.org for auditory assets. Moreover, we are wishing to film in public areas so we will need to fill out location release forms otherwise it is illegal to film in some areas and we will not be allowed to use the footage, also we must get permission and inform pedestrians that we are filming as some will not wish to be featured in the film, to counter this we will try and avoid people as much as possible.
