LO2 - Health and safety

During the filming process we abided by health and safety guidelines through checking the locations we would be filming at and the safety procedures that are already in place at the current time. To secure the health and safety guidelines we made sure that the equipment was checked for the battery percentage before it was taken out and it was all packed into safety bags to then be taken to the specific locations. This made sure that all the equipment was secure and safe, and none would become damaged during the transportation from locations. Whilst recording we made sure that all the wires and equipment was safely secured together to make sure that nobody would trip over any of the wires whilst we was filming, to state all the security measures and safety measure we will take we have created a risk assessment outlining all the possible risks and how we can avoid them from occurring and how we could solve them. Before filming we checked the access to the fire exits in the locations and got anybody present that could possibly be seen in the footage to then sign a form giving us permission to use them in the short film. We also got permission from the café to use their location and film in the location. The travel of the filming and acting crew would also be taken into consideration when filming.

This image is of Kaley attaching the camera mount to the StediCam. When attaching this part, the user needs to be able to line up the poles to the holes which are attached to the vest, once they have done this than they need to attach the weighted camera mount to the arm. A safety hazard we had to deal was the arm of the mount was dense, so we had to make sure it is held in place, so it isn't going to hit anyone while we set it up. (putting the arm onto the stedicam)

This image is shows me putting the camera on to the weighted mount for the Steadicam. When setting this up you need to make sure the mount is on a flat surface, so it doesn't fall over and break the camera. Another health and safety tip when setting up this piece of equipment is if there are any wires attached and coming out of the camera then they need to either be wrap up around the pole of the mount or kept in your pocket, this will reduce tripping and breaking the camera if any of the wires were ripped out. (Ben setting up the weighted mount for the steadicam)

In this image is Emily using a tripod, microphone, and canon DSLR camera, when setting up the tripod you can set it to different lengths, if you need the tripod to be long then you need to unclip the latches on each leg and slide it down. Furthermore, when attaching the camera to the tripod you need to use the slider and attach it to the camera, then you need to tighten it to the camera by screwing in the screw that goes into the camera and twist it. Now attaching the microphone to the camera, you can easily slide it onto the camera than using the little gear on the on the camera you can tighten it up. When abiding by the health and safety guidelines especially (Mirror scene)
