LO4 - Audience feedback through a screen test

To gather audience feedback we made an questionnaire for the audience to answer through Survey Monkey a platform that can be shared with others that can be edited before sending to ask appropriate questions. From the feedback we have gathered we will act upon the feedback and improve our short film production, this will strengthen the quality of the short film for we have primary feedback from the target audience on what can be improved on the short film and if the storyline and editing concludes the short films conventions we included.

Based on the feedback that we have been given we will be making user to act upon the changes that need to be done, for example we will be making sure that the editing changes will be altered and there will be extra footage added to elaborate onto the storyline that is already there. A short scene will be added of when the main male character looks up into the sky where the dream like footage is further shown, this will help show the audience that the storyline is that the main character is dreaming and imagining the further scenes shown, this will help with the confusion on the storyline. 

Another change that we will work on will be the sound editing that needs to be altered and made more clear to make sure that there is more of an professional sight onto the short film. We will do this by making certain sections of the short film quicker including background noise and we will make sure the enhance the dialogue contained in the short film to make sure it is more visible and accessible to the audience being more efficient for them. 

From the feedback we have gathered there is a consistent pattern to the audience mentioning the jump cuts included in the short film, these editing mistakes will be addressed and will be changed so they aren’t included in the short film and will be altered to improve the quality of the short film and it’s production. We will also be changing some of the editing techniques used and try to eliminate some of the overused sound effects, special effects and the over use of editing used in certain sections of the film.

Throughout the short film we will make sure to modify the flow of the short film and make sure that it flows more smoothly, we will be doing this through using the audience feedback and making sure that the audio flows more and there isn’t sections where there is jumps from inputted audio to dialogue to then silence. 

At the beginning of the short film we will ensure to change the title page to make it more clear and visible to the audience, we will also make sure to change the credit scenes at the end of the short film to ensure that they are more professional and easier to follow. We will do this through changing the settings and the editing effects used in the short film and the type of fonts and time placements included for them. 

The positives of our short film was that we implemented some clean editing especially with the mirror scenes masking effect, moreover there seems to be a consistent narrative and tone set throughout

however the narrative may need to be adjusted due to some cuts not being clear as to their relevance however we aim to rectify it with some different footage to help match.
